How does Scanlily booking compare to Sortly?

Sortly doesn't offer equipment booking at all. Scanlily includes full reservation management with three booking modes, QR check-in/out, availability calendars, and automated notifications starting at $10/month.

Can multiple people book the same equipment?

No, Scanlily prevents double-booking. Once equipment is reserved, it shows as unavailable on the calendar. Users can join waitlists and receive notifications when items become available.

What are the three booking modes?

Checkout Mode works like a library for simple lending. Reservation Mode works like meeting room bookings. Reservation with Pickup Mode combines advance reservations with QR scan verification when picking up and returning items.

Can you require and collect a signature from the person picking up an item?

Yes, Business subscribers can enable digital signature collection with customizable booking agreements that appear during the checkout or pickup process.

How do I switch between booking modes?

You can change modes in Settings->Subscriber screen. Note that future bookings will be hidden until you switch back to that mode, so close open bookings before switching.

Make your items available online.

Using Scanlily, you can make your items available online for checkouts and reservations. Scanlily is ideal for booking anything you can put a QR sticker onto, such as tools and equipment.

Booking Modes

There are three Scanlily booking modes. Choose which one is right for you! In all three modes, you can use Booking Notifications and Reports to help you manage your assets.

Checkout Mode

This is like checking out tools or checking out books from a library. The states for your items are Available and Checked Out. You can see who has checked out which tool.

Reservation Mode

This is like reserving a meeting room. Users reserve on a calendar. They get an email reminder when the reservation is about to begin. You can see a calendar of future reservations.

Reservations with Pickups Mode

Users reserve the item on a calendar. When they come to pick up the item, they can scan it and pick it up in the system. When users (hopefully) return the item before it is due, they can scan it to return it. There are various notifications in this mode such as a reminder for when to return the item or a notification that can go out to the reserver and you if items are overdue.

With Scanlily, you can choose which booking notification style works best for you.

Booking notifications are emails and/or text messages that are sent to users to remind them about something. For example, they may get a notification when a checked out item is overdue. Or they may get a notification when a reservation is about to begin.
