Once your items are labeled, you can manage checkouts, reservations, and returns all through Scanlily.
There are three booking modes available. Each one supports a different type of use, and you can switch between them at any time depending on what your setup requires.
Checkout Mode
Checkout Mode works like a library system. When someone needs to borrow an item, they scan its QR code to check it out. Scanlily records who has the item and when it is due back. When the item is returned, they scan it again to check it in. You can assign due dates during checkout and enable automatic reminders to help ensure everything is returned on time. Users get a reminder before their return is due, and admins receive alerts if something is late.
This mode is great for businesses and organizations that regularly lend out equipment and need a clear way to track what is out and what is available.

Reservation Mode
Reservation Mode works more like booking a stay on Airbnb. Instead of scanning, users choose a time slot on the booking calendar. They receive an email reminder before their reservation starts, and admins can view all upcoming bookings at a glance.
This booking mode is great for spaces and items that stay on-site, like meeting rooms, shared desks, or equipment that doesn’t need to be picked up or returned.

Reservation with Pickup Mode
This mode combines calendar scheduling with QR scanning to give you full control from start to finish. A user reserves an item on the calendar, then scans it to confirm pickup. When they are finished, they scan it again to check it back in. Scanlily sends notifications throughout the process. Users are reminded when their reservation is coming up, when it is time to return something, and if anything is overdue. These reminders help keep everyone on track and give admins a full picture of what is happening.
If you are using a Business plan, you can require users to sign a digital agreement during pickup. You can also customize those agreements to match your policies.
